Herbert Klein (CF 2020) recently produced a film on disaster risk reduction in Indonesia for the Deaf Indonesia Project.
His efforts in campaigning and research previously led to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) establishing a new Disaster Risk Reduction Officer and Expert Group—the first of its kind. Herbert is now an official member of the WFD Mental Health and Disaster Risk Reduction Expert Group. Awarded a Fellowship in 2020, he focused on improving Deaf people's access to emergency services during natural disasters, wars, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
