Have you ever wanted to make change happen in an issue you care passionately about? Explore new solutions with the world’s leading professionals? A Churchill Fellowship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the change you want to see.
We are closed for Fellowship applications. We will re-open for applications in September 2024.
“The Fellowship was one of the best experiences of my life. The connections, the people, the learning and the feelings that I experienced still influence me today.” – Mark Walsh, Fellow
Churchill Fellows are dedicated and dynamic individuals with a vision for change in their community or sector. We support their mission by funding them to explore innovations around the world and then helping them to put their ideas into practice in the UK. This can be done in person or online.
They are distributing free school meals, campaigning for race equity, preventing domestic abuse, redesigning children’s playgrounds, widening access to sport, protecting biodiversity, making music with disabled people and much, much more.
Fellows come from all areas of society and work on any issue they are passionate about. We select them regardless of qualifications, background or age, and we prioritise those who would not receive funding from other sources. They bring lived or learned experience of the issue they wish to address, and we recognise the insight and authority these bring.
In the past five years (2016-20), 15% of our Fellows have come from minoritised racial communities, 10% were disabled, 10% identified as LGBTQ+ and 65% were women.
The Fellowship experience is life-changing for many. In our annual survey of Fellows’ impact, the majority report significant growth in their knowledge, networks, confidence and standing – and projects that may have started with local aspirations have often grown to national scale. In the 2022 survey, 100% of Fellows said they would recommend applying for a Fellowship.
We open for applications via our website once a year.
