August 2026 Fellows' update: Symeon Brown

Symeon Brown (CF 2023) was interviewed by The Guardian about his new book, The Good, the Black and the Boujee: How Black Britain Became Middle Class, which was published on 30 July.

The book draws on research supported by his Churchill Fellowship and explores the role of class within Black British life, including education, employment, identity, representation, and inequality.

The Guardian feature examines Symeon's argument that class has often been overlooked in conversations about race in Britain and draws on his research with around 1,500 members of Britain’s Black middle class.

Read the full feature in the Guardian.

The Good, The Black and the Boujee is available to order from Dialogue Books and elsewhere.
