Leisa Nichols-Drew's (CF 2018) research on rounded knives as a mechanism for reducing harm was highlighted in the UK Parliament by Rt Hon Andy Slaughter MP.
This follows growing public discussion on the issue, including a letter Leisa co-authored with experts from multiple disciplines to The Times (24 January 2025), Idris Elba's BBC documentary Our Knife Crime Crisis (29 January 2025), and a Sunday Times online feature (1 February 2025) referencing her collaborative research with De Montfort University, the University of Leicester, and Northumbria University.
