Developing Bereavement Support in Assisted Dying: Learning from Global Models
Developing pre & post bereavement support for patients and families in the context of assisted dying

I'm a palliative care social worker at St Christopher's Hospice. My Fellowship focuses on assisted dying, specifically how patients and families are supported emotionally, socially and psychologically before and after an assisted death. I'll be travelling to Australia and Canada to learn from their established frameworks of bereavement and psychosocial care in this context.
This Fellowship seeks to ensure that, if assisted dying becomes legal in the UK, psychosocial bereavement support is available in line with the implementation of legislation. This Fellowship also aims to increase death literacy and contribute to future training and improved approaches to end-of-life care.
