Biography

I work as an architect in both the public and private sectors. In the public sector, I identify and appraise sites for new affordable housing developments on behalf of a local authority. In the private sector, I specialise as an architect and researcher for complex cultural projects. Additionally, I am a resident of South East London estate and serve as a board member for its Tenant Management Organisation.

Open spaces on housing estates in the UK are often critically underfunded and poorly planned, resulting in a vast untapped public asset. My Fellowship aims to examine the improvements made to open spaces on affordable housing land in New York City, explore the methods employed for mapping and redesigning them, and assess how the implemented projects function in practice.

My goal is to complete several case studies of projects throughout New York and conduct interviews with the involved partners. I will utilise this information to develop a toolkit for public realm improvements to housing estates, adapted to the specific context of the UK housing landscape.
