The eco-industrial parks' role in sustainable development

Scotland
I am an environmental professional with a deep commitment to addressing the growing global environmental challenges. I am owner of EcoideaM Ltd (an industrial ecology project facilitation company) and CEO of Pi Polymer Recycling Ltd. My 2009 Fellowship involved visits to the USA, Japan and China looking at the policy framework for clean technology sector development. A practising strategist, systems thinker and innovator, I focus on fundamental issues including new circular economy resource technology and system development, renewable energy, connected low carbon and clean technology systems and sustainable food systems.
My current focus is on developing the Binn Ecopark in Tayside, Scotland as a clean technology platform focused on resource management, agri-parks and renewable energy; as well as three separate plastics recycling projects addressing supply chain failures, a new approach to marine plastic waste recycling and a private multi-renewable system private grid project utilising solar, wind and bio energy with battery systems, grid connectivity and advanced power controls and energy management systems. I believe clean growth is fundamental to post-Covid-19 recovery and global sustainability.
