Biography
I am a Director of With Horses CIC, a Community Interest Company set up to ensure that people from all backgrounds can access the life-changing benefits of horses. I'm a board certified equine interaction professional, therapeutic riding instructor and equine behaviourist.
For more than a decade, I have been privileged to work alongside horses to help children and young people heal from developmental trauma. Due to this and my own experience of having my life transformed by horses, I am passionate about developing new equine-assisted services for fostered and adopted young people.
My Fellowship is about investigating the value of therapeutic riding interventions for care-experienced young people. I have two main aspirations, namely to educate statutory bodies and commissioning organisations and to equip equine-assisted professionals with the information they need to provide these kinds of services to a high standard. My ultimate goal is make trauma-focused therapeutic riding interventions more widely available and easily accessible for care-experienced young people.
